Sub Meshes

Most models are made up of smaller sub meshes, and each sub mesh is a group of polygons. How these polygons are grouped is usually up to the model author or modelling software, so the way polygons are grouped may vary from model to model. In one model chairs and tables may be seperate sub meshes, but in another model chairs and tables may be part of the same group. How the sub meshes are grouped is important to keep in mind when using hide and show, since it hides the sub mesh that was selected. Then if you point at a chair wishing to hide it, but it is part of a bigger sub mesh, it could hide more than just that one chair.
