Sub Meshes

Most models are made up of smaller sub meshes, and each sub mesh is a group of polygons. How these polygons are grouped is usually up to the model creator or modelling software, so the way things are grouped may vary from model to model. In one model chairs and tables may be seperate sub meshes, but in another model chairs and tables may be part of the same group. This is important to keep in mind when using hide and show, since it hides the a selected sub mesh. Then if you point at a chair wishing to hide it, but it is part of a bigger sub mesh, it could hide more than just that one chair.
